Cat FIV and FELV
| List of Dog Names |
Cat FIV is short for Feline immunodeficiency virus. Cat FELV is shore for Feline leukemia. These two viruses attack the immune system of cats. Both viruses leave cats prone to other diseases and infections. Cat FIV is spread from one cat to another from bites. A cat can be at risk for FIV and FELV infections if the cat goes outdoors, has gotten into fights with other cats and lives in a multi cat household. Cat FIV and Cat FELV symptoms may not appear for many months or years after contact. A retro virus vaccination is available to prevent the diseases. For more information consult your veterinarian. It is recommended that all cats be tested for both FIV and Feline Leukemia. |
